Day out at Lima zoo for very poor children (some had never before left their barrios).
With thanks to Les's sponsors

Foreign Ecahcnge Team
Our
5 generous hearted volunteers sponsored a day out to the zoo of Lima
for each of the children in our Lima projects. They divided them into
two groups and took one each for two successive weeks. For many of
the children it was their first venture out of the desolate barrios.
"Mire, Grass!" ("Look, grass" - first time.)
They saw animals
they have been learning about never expected to see. They got to
wear their best clothes, see sights, hear noises all new to them.
It was a day of adventure, education, comraderie with one another
and lots of love from our volunteers. So different to the semi abandoned
lives they know in the barrio.
